John was a close colleague in the HQ Engineering department of Eastern Electricity for many years. A group of us have been meeting each month for lunch since our retirement in the early 90's. John made all the arrangements and kept up to date with the welfare of those who could no longer attend. As well as being a highly respected professional engineer, he was also a very caring person. His very rapid decline in health was felt by us all and he will be sadly missed. RIP John
