John was one of our longest serving members and was always very enthusiastic about his involvement with Acorn and Riscos machines in particular. In addition to his computing interests he was also a very keen genealogist and enjoyed giving us presentations on his family history. He also used his computing knowledge to track his holiday trips across Europe. He was a very intelligent man and very good company and always keen to help others with problems. We were very sad when he told us that he could no longer come to our meetings in Ipswich and we are going to miss him very much.
